The Details
The 1949 62 Series Cadillac Coupe Deville on display at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum was modified for the Peking to Paris Race. The Peking to Paris rally is one of the last great endurance motor challenges. Traversing a distance of over 9000 miles, the Peking to Paris rally race was originally held in 1907 between what was then Peking which is now Beijing and Paris, France. Lloyd Damon’s car entered the Peking to Paris race in 2010. Driving an antique car halfway around the world, racing against the clock, with timed sections, makes the event one of the toughest and longest driving challenges for vintage and classic cars. Lloyd Damon will join us at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum to regale his time during the 2010 Reenactment of the Peking to Paris, one of the most challenging endurance rallies in history.
